More than 1,000 global companies trust the Haiilo platform to create, distribute and manage all their employee communications within one secure platform that 3.5 million people love to use every day.

Haiilo has offices in Atlanta, Hamburg, Helsinki, London, and Paris. Their team of 300 passionate software and communication experts support customers, including Amazon, Google, Deutsche Telekom, KPMG and Salesforce, putting the needs of more than 3 million employees at the forefront of their corporate culture.

High-performance culture

Driven by their Agile Coaches, Haiilo has a strong culture of high performance and continuous improvement across their hybrid-working Tech and Product teams.

The Agile Coaches help foster successful collaboration across the different departments, which includes establishing effective ways of working, creating transparent alignment, and setting up communications processes within the Organization.

They accomplish this through retrospectives and team building workshops run in Metro Retro.

Retrospectives are the secret weapon

Theda-Marie Howaldt, one of the Agile Coaches at Haiilo, says:

“Retrospectives are the most important component when working with Agile. They are the secret weapon for continuous improvement and provide a platform for constructive feedback. We run them to identify areas for improvement, fortify the bonds within the team, and foster a spirit of collaboration.”

“It’s all about open communication. Creating a culture where team members feel safe to voice concerns and suggest improvements. The human element is vital for the success of a team.

“Metro Retro helps our teams openly discuss difficult topics. As well as dealing with issues quicker, over time this has strengthened the team bonds and ways of working together.”

Haiilo have been running their retrospectives and workshops in Metro Retro since March 2020, with 120 tech and product team members contributing ideas and deciding on improvements together weekly.

Metro Retro helps our teams openly discuss difficult topics. As well as dealing with issues quicker, over time this has strengthened the team bonds and ways of working together.

An easy-to-use platform

“Metro Retro provides a simple, intuitive, and flexible way of creating any kind of board we need for a team meeting. It has enough templates to get inspiration for the different workshop formats we need to organize.”

“It’s easy to use, so the learning curve to start using it is not that steep, meaning that new joiners are immediately able to contribute to a board during a workshop or retrospective.”

Change would be difficult without retrospectives

“If we didn’t have a culture of retrospectives, it would be much harder to make changes to how we want to work together, we’d struggle for longer with inefficient processes, there would be lower team alignment and more conflicts. A not-so-enjoyable development experience overall.”
